For over 30 years Sound Leisure has been at the forefront of jukebox technology, pioneering through vinyl to CD in the late eighties. Our 21st century CD changer mechanism remains the simplest in the World. In 1988 we also demonstrated the Worlds first digital jukebox to a stunned audience of press and industry representatives who were not convinced that the mp3 format would catch on!
Since then Sound Leisure has continuously developed the digital platform, releasing the Worlds first Satellite downloading digital video Jukebox in 1998. We currently manufacture the largest range of Jukeboxes in the world ensuring that we are best placed to offer a solution to any outlets requirements.
Our jukebox software is designed and programmed in-house ensuring that we remain in control and can therefore offer new and exciting features as we receive feedback from operators and users. We currently offer 3 different jukebox technologies that can be installed in a wide range of cabinets; RPS 10000, Milestones in Music audio and Milestones in Music Audio/Video (AV). Each technology offers an array of different features and capabilities.

Technology Features Guide
Below is a guide to the many features and added extras that are packed into a Sound Leisure Digital Jukebox.
Background Music Timers
The Background Music option enables the jukebox to be quickly programmed to automatically play tightly controlled selections of music during pre set periods of time. Each individual timer can be set by: Time of day, day of the week and beats per minute. Year Range. (i.e. play tracks recorded between 1970 – 1979 only) BGM type (Most played songs, least played songs or BPM Range.) Exclude individual categories from play list, Exclude individual songs from play list.
Intelligent Music Management System (IMMS)
The IMMS system enables the jukebox to manage the music content automatically without the Operators involvement. When music updates are carried out the jukebox will take the latest Top 40 from the update then analyse the most popular tracks from the other genres on the machine and only increase the content of those types of music being played. The IMMS system also manages track deletion by only deleting music that is not being played ensuring that “cash in box” is always optimised.
Rapid Profiling System (RPS)
The Rapid Profile System (RPS) is a major technological advancement in as much as the music content of the jukebox can be changed very quickly at any time. There is no need to use generic music content, instead it is a simple operation to provide the end user with exactly the content they want which in turn means that the all important “cash in box” is maintained at the optimum level.
Data Vault
All the jukebox parameters are stored on solid state memory external to the PC. Settings such as the music profile, BGM timers, price of play, happy hour timers, On/Off Timers, deleted/hidden tracks are all recorded.
Install a replacement PC into the jukebox cabinet and “Data Vault” will automatically set its parameters to match those of the original machine. No additional configuration time is required.
Dynamic Photo Display (DPD)*
This feature allows the site to display their own adverts and photos on-screen. Simply take a picture with a digital camera or create a Jpeg advert, then quickly upload them to the jukebox directly via USB memory stick to display on screen. Great for birthday's and quick venue promotions!
Whats On Events Guide*
This feature enables a calendar of upcoming events to be inputted and displayed on the jukebox touch screen, where its always handy for customers to check what’s coming up in the venue. Originally featured on SoundLeisure’s VVS systems the ‘Whats On Guide’ automatically displays regular on screen advertisements to promote any site events due to occur in the next 14 days. This gives customers a single point for information about the activities in the venue, ensuring they always know whats on and when!
Sporting Events Guide*
Pre loaded with the team logo’s for every major UK and international football and rugby team. Using the Sports Event Advert facility, quick on screen adverts featuring the teams logo’s can quickly be created to promote matches shown in the venue.
Bingo
You can now play Bingo on any location without the need for a license as long as the stake and aggregate prize does not exceed £2000.00 in any rolling 7 day period. MIM Bingo is a great way of attracting customers to the venue on quiet nights, featuring attractive on screen graphics and automated audio calls. The Auto Play facility makes it extremely simple to operate and regular on screen instructions ensure the winners keep coming!
Trackdial / 3G and broadband delivery/Bluetooth advertising
Down load music updates direct to site as and when they are released without the need for a broadband wired connection. Allow customers to make selections and receive promotional messages aimed at driving revenue to the Jukebox using their own mobile phone. Full access via the Soundnet web site to the machines reporting system and lots more. This feature is being added to allow customers the option to access to the trackdial feature. If you would like to discuss this feature further please contact any of the SL sales team.
Happy Hour
This facility offers an opportunity to allow special pricing schemes for a pre-set time period during the week. Each can be tailored by day, time, and price of play. A basic function of this facility would be to offer cut-price or free tracks on the jukebox during a “Happy hour”, or to reduce the price of play during less busy periods of the week.
QWERTY keyboard / A-Z keyboard
New user interface switchable option. Makes search options easier and faster ensuring the cash goes into the cashbox quicker.
*Accessed via the managers switch. Please note that a USB hub may be required if using this feature along with other USB options.
ADVERTISING
There are many ways of using your jukebox for advertising. Sound Leisure's software enables advertising to be completed at a venue using the new DPD function or via the centrally managed advertising capability of previous machines. Below is a description of all current advertising options:
Static Image advertising via DPD (VENUE LEVEL)
It has never been easier to advertise using static images. Dynamic Photo Display (DPD) allows venues to load jpeg and bitmap images such as adverts or photo's onto a USB memory stick and upload them directly on to the jukebox. An external USB lead ensures this can be achieved via the Manager's Special Event switch without entering the machine. Images can also be taken directly from a digital camera and loaded straight on to the jukebox, which automatically rotates and resizes the content to ensure maximum fill on the screen. These are displayed on the touch screen of the jukebox and on Video systems can also be shown during the playback of Audio tracks on connected composite video screens. Precisely directed "on site" marketing material can advertise weekly events such as quiz nights, food and drink promotions, sporting events or live acts. Unlike the Brand Level advert options detailed below this option requires no intervention from Sound Leisure, just load your content on to a USB stick and your ready to go.
Scrolling Text (VENUE LEVEL)
Scrolling text messages can be added by the site personnel via the "Managers Menu". This allows scrolling text to be displayed across the bottom of any screens connected to the jukebox. This allows promotions and infomation to be displayed at specific periods. Timed profiles assist in promoting the right events to the right customers.
Static Adverts (Bitmap, Jpeg) (BRAND LEVEL)
Requires security tagging by Sound Leisure Creative
The simplest form of brand advertising. This could consists of a background image with additional text such as the advertisers address, telephone number and web address, or the details of a current promotion. Adverts of this type are displayed on the jukebox touch screen. Adverts will only be displayed if there are no credits currently on the jukebox and if the screen has not been touched for 30 seconds. Images taken by a reasonable quality digital camera are acceptable for this form of advertising. Up to 50 bitmap adverts can be installed.
Attract Mode Adverts (Flash) (BRAND LEVEL)
Requires security tagging by Sound Leisure Creative
Again this type of advert is displayed on the jukebox touch screen when it is not been used by customers. Animated adverts can feature any range of images, graphics or text to help "attract" the attention of customers. This form of advertising is considered to be more effective than still adverts due to the movement of the animation making them more noticeable.
If you envisage the need for ongoing advertisements, Sound Leisure Creative recommends investing in a high quality introduction animation featuring the company or site logo to grab your customer's attention. This can be followed by simple text to display the current promotions or information. This text can be quickly changed from month to month whilst retaining the overall impression of a high quality advert. Customers also learn to recognise the animated introductions as a pre-cursor to information on forthcoming events or promotions which increases the adverts effectiveness. Up to 25 Flash Attract Mode Adverts can be installed.
Video Mpeg Adverts (Video only - BRAND LEVEL)
Requires security tagging by Sound Leisure Creative
The huge advantage of Mpeg Video Adverts is that they are displayed on any composite video screens that are connected to the jukebox (tv's, plasma, projectors etc) and can contain audio such as speech or music, making them highly noticeable. Video Mpeg Adverts are shown between jukebox music tracks and allow the site to control the playback frequency of the advert.
Full motion Mpeg videos can be in the form of existing television commercials or specifically created "on site" adverts promoting events. These can be created by " Sound Leisure Creative" specifically to the client's specification. As with Flash adverts these may take the form of an animated introduction featuring the sites/company logo followed by simple text detailing promotions. Up to 25 video adverts can be installed.
Overlay Adverts (Video only - BRAND LEVEL)
Requires security tagging by Sound Leisure Creative
Overlay adverts have many of the benefits of Video Mpg Adverts as they are also displayed across any composite video screens that are connected to the Jukebox. Overlay adverts however are not displayed between jukebox tracks, but over the top of them.
A Background Music track is inserted into the playlist and the audio from this is heard in the venue. Instead of the video been displayed on screen the customer sees the overlay advert. At the end of the advert the screens seamlessly swap back to display the remainder of the selected track maintaining the music ambience.
Overlay Adverts are only suitable for adverts which contain no Audio content making them ideal for displaying Logo's, menu's and information ads such as up and coming events etc. The advantage of overlay adverts is that they do not interrupt the music playback in any way and are cost effective as they do not require a licensed audio track dubbing onto them.
